Why is Holi celebrated? Why is Holika Dahan done? Why we celebrate holi and why do we burn holika?
Holi is about to come and preparations for Holi are in full swing. The colorful atmosphere of Gujhiya and the colors of the dish is prepared in such a way that all the people get immersed in the fun of Holi. Friends, the festival of Holi also means a lot for those people who have gone out of home for study or employment. Because coming home at festivals and enjoying with friends is very difficult and such a good opportunity is very difficult. When did Holi begin?
In ancient times there was a demon named Hiranyakashyap. The one who was given a boon that he can neither be killed on earth nor in the sky, neither day nor night nor human nor god nor demon nor any weapon, his death is possible. Therefore, he does not fear death. Even Dev Raj Indra was afraid of him. He had a son Prahlada and was a very great Vishnu devotee. When Prahlada did not give up devotion to God even after Hiranyakashyap's explanation, he called his sister Holika, Holika had the boon that fire would not affect her body. He was proud that fire would not spoil him. Holika sat Prahlada in her lap and sat on a pile of wood, and later it was set on fire. The devotee could not do anything for Prahlada's fire but Holika burned to ashes.
For this reason, Holika is burnt a day before Holi, considering Holika as a symbol of evil.
Holi is also considered a symbol of brotherhood and harmony. On this day, all people come together to celebrate Holi.
